Biography

He began his music education with violin, piano, music theory and harmony. He continued his studies at the Instrument-maker School of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest majoring in the field of Keyboard Instruments. Later on, he attended technical training seminars throughout Europe and the United States, most importantly the C. F. Theodore Steinway Academies in Hamburg and New York.

Since 2004 Constantinos works as a piano technician in universities and institutions, theatres and recording studios etc. He quickly became the permanent collaborator of the most important cultural organisations on the island, such as the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (CYSO), Pharos Arts Foundation, Ledra Music Soloists and  many others. He is the main concert technician and tuner at the Nicosia, Strovolos and Larnaca Municipal Theatres, Pallas Theatre (CYSO), the Shoe Factory (Pharos Arts Foundation) and so on.

As a concert technician Constantinos Loizou has collaborated with world-renowned pianists like Grigory Sokolov, Martha Argerich, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Dmitri Bashkirov, Sergei Babayan, Yuja Wang, Jacques Loussier and  his compatriots Martino Tirimo, Cyprien Katsaris, Marios Papadopoulos (Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra) amongst many others over time.

In 2017 & 2018 he has been invited to be the official concert technician at the 1st & 2nd International Piano Competition in Vigo, Spain, where he took over the diligence of the pianos.

Constantinos has given lectures about the piano and harpsichord at the University of Nicosia and the ARTE Music Academy. He has also been a TV guest at the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CYBC).

In September 2021 he has accepted a permanent position at ARTE Music Academy on the subject "The Anatomy of Piano" which he teaches to the students of the institution.
